STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) courses span Kindergarten through Grade 12. Students in the elementary schools engage in Engineering is Elementary curriculum units, work with LEGO and Sphero robotics, learn about digital literacy, and even practice typing in these highly engaging classes that are taught as weekly specials. These classes are meant to spark creativity and innovation. They also align with the MA Frameworks for Science and Digital Literacy.

Students in Grades 6-12 have varied opportunities to continue to problem solve and innovate in a variety of STEM courses. During middle school, we implement units from Project Lead the Way.

This program is referred to as the Gateway program as it is designed to teach students the skills that will help them be successful as they progress towards our high school courses that are featured in our Innovation Pathway department. These include courses in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Robotics, and more. Many of these courses lead to certifications that allow students to take on jobs while in high school or beyond. Thinking and working through the engineering design process allows students to take chances and learn from their mistakes or misconceptions.
