Students in District Programs (Autism, Life Skills, Therapeutic)

In accordance with federal and state laws, the Quabbin Regional School District provides special education services to all eligible students with disabilities between the ages of 3 and 22. A student may be referred for screening or an evaluation to determine eligibility by the faculty, a parent or any person in a caregiving or professional position concerned with the student’s development.

Referrals for screening of three and four-year-old children should be directed to the early childhood team chairperson: Jill Dowgielewicz.  Preschool screening appointments are available during May and June.  Referrals for school-age children, including students not presently attending district schools, should be directed to the appropriate team chair of the local school at the student’s grade level.

Child Find Notice

The Quabbin Regional School District needs help in locating children who may have a disability. Each year, the District is required to conduct a state-required count of all children with disabilities living in the district. Regulations regarding child find can be found here.
If you know a child or adolescent between the ages of birth through 21 whom you suspect may have a disability and who is not currently receiving services from Early Intervention (birth to age 3) or the school district (ages 3 through 21), then the Quabbin Regional School District wants to hear from you.
Children who are attending or planning to attend a private school/preschool are also included in this notice. Please help the Quabbin Regional School District locate children who may need special education services. All information is confidential.
