Located in Worcester County, the Quabbin Regional School District serves students, families and community members in five rural, central Massachusetts towns - Barre, Hardwick, Hubbardston, New Braintree and Oakham – while offering its academic opportunities to more than two hundred school choice students from more than twenty sending towns. The District is governed by one school committee with fifteen members from the five member towns. The superintendent serves as the parliamentarian.
Each of the member towns has its own elementary school. Oakham Elementary School located at 1 Deacon Allen Drive in Oakham was built in 1976 and renovated in 1990. The property has 28.3 acres is a single floor, with 1 gymnasium, 21 classrooms, 43 parking spaces and a current enrollment of 179 students.
