Quabbin Regional School District believes in offering well-rounded educational experiences for all of our learners. This includes access to and participation in a diverse range of creative and enriching visual and performing arts activities. Our Pk- Grade 5 learners are offered weekly Art classes during their special time. This curriculum is developed by our educators. Classes offer direct instruction, opportunities for practice and skill building, as well as use of exemplars. Exemplars are a “model or example” of a finished product. These exemplars help our students to visualize their own finished product and ensure that they are including different aspects of the assigned projects. Walking into an elementary art class allows the visitor to see creativity at its best. Students can be seen with smiles on their faces and up to their elbows in paint, glue, clay, and more.

Middle school students have the opportunity to continue their art exploration and can also join a drama club for those who may be interested. Many of our middle school students take advantage of this opportunity to perform or work on the sets, costumes, and staging for our yearly productions.

Art classes are part of our Innovation Pathway program at the high school level. Students can choose from a wide range of courses such as drawing, ceramics, graphic design, and many more.  Art is a favorite subject for many of our students and their finished products surprise and delight!
