Our mission is to ensure a clean, safe, well maintained learning environment for our students, faculty, staff & community, while providing excellent customer service every step of the way. We strive to create the very best environment that public dollars can afford while continuing to improve the buildings & grounds functional abilities in order to keep pace with changing needs.

Custodial Staff: The "face" each school in Quabbin Regional School District shows to teachers, students, and visitors depends largely upon the work performed by the custodial team. Many visitors receive their entire impression of schools from the standards of cleanliness maintained by the custodial staff.

The custodial staff works to maintain a safe, sanitary, and healthy environment for both staff and students. They provide clean, serviceable, and attractive buildings; protection of public property through proper planning, scheduling, and preventative maintenance.

Maintenance Staff: The maintenance staff works to maintain the interior and exterior of school buildings and all mechanical systems and subsystems.

They provide buildings and components that function safely and efficiently; facilities and equipment that minimize the possibility of fires, accidents, and safety hazards; protection of public property through proper planning, scheduling, and preventative maintenance; quality management of maintenance projects and tasks; and the conservation of energy through utilization of the latest technology and energy conservation measures.

Technical responsibility for all buildings and campus infrastructure includes heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC boilers, chillers, air distribution systems & water distribution, building automation systems & controls), elevators, fire detection/protection, mechanical equipment, electric power distribution, plumbing & waste systems.

Grounds Staff: The grounds staff works to maintain lawn, landscaping, and large field areas, as well as sidewalks, drives, and parking lots in a manner that supports the educational and activity goals of the district. Duties include: ground and road repairs, litter control, snow removal, mowing, trimming, tree work, planting/pruning, lawn fertilizing and weed control, sportsfield management, equipment repair & maintenance.

They provide district grounds that minimize the possibility of injury and safety hazards. This, along with proper horticulture and maintenance techniques, allows them to protect and preserve public property in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
