Quabbin Regional School District offers a wide variety of professional learning opportunities for our educators. Each year our staff engages in 3 full curriculum days as well as 10 half day learning sessions. In addition, each month our educators have extended day time.

We believe that professional learning for our educators is essential to their growth and development. Professional learning should help our educators gain the skills and confidence that they need to succeed in our classrooms and beyond. QRSD professional learning includes a combination of collaborative time with colleagues, direct instruction in identified areas, and job embedded coaching through QRSD instructional coaches and external experts. This model is meant to support our educators in trying new instructional approaches.

When determining focus areas for professional learning, we review a wide variety of data and align the learning with the areas of our District Strategic Plan and School Improvement Plans.

During the SY 23-24, professional learning will be focused on:

-Implementation of high quality curriculum
-Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Instructional practices
-Understanding the Science of Reading through data
-Differentiation and supporting students through a multi-tiered system of support
